Nissan PH is DOT’s official mobility partner in recently-concluded UN Tourism events

MANILA: Nissan Philippines expanded its partnership with the Department of Tourism by being the latter’s official mobility partner for United Nations (UN) Tourism events recently held in the country.

A total of 50 Nissan examples were used in the recently-concluded events.The automotive distributor lent 50 units of the Nissan Terra, Urvan, and the Kicks e-Power Sport to shuttle participants of the 36th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and South Asia as well as the first-ever Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific. The said events were held last June 26-28, 2024 in Cebu.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power Sport is the subcompact crossover’s latest limited-edition iteration. Its athletic appearance comes with the exclusive Galaxy Black paint color and body kits made up of silver-painted front, side, and rear skirts, as well as a silver-painted rear roof spoiler.
Per the Japanese automaker’s local arm, the total volume of the lend-out was produced in collaboration with its local dealer partners, namely Nissan Cebu Distributors Incorporated, AutoSynergy, and Gateway Group.

Conducted annually, the Joint Meetings of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and South Asia are designed to boost regional cooperation and discuss issues faced by tourism in the region.
The event was attended by UN Tourism member states, associate members, affiliate members from the private sector, and other international and regional organizations, as well as representatives from the Office of the President.
Meanwhile, the inaugural UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific served as a platform to celebrate the power of gastronomy tourism and bringing together destinations and international experts to exchange knowledge and the best practices in the sector, while also highlighting the unique culture and delicacies of the Philippines.
To recall, the Nissan and DOT renewed their collaboration with the “Drive Pinas” campaign — an initiative that promotes destinations and cultures of the country, along with the promotion of more inclusive and sustainable tourism.
