Peugeot increases driving range of e-2008, announces other enhancements
MANILA: Peugeot has improved the e-2008’s driving range with new efficiency technology. The longer range has also been updated with a revamped trim lineup and new aesthetic features for the model.

To achieve the increase, all 17-inch tires of the e-2008 will be upgraded to A+ class, providing improved efficiency due to lower rolling resistance. Furthermore, a mechanical upgrade with a new gearbox ratio will help improve range on highway and road trips. The heating and air-conditioning will also be more energy-efficient, thanks to a new heat pump and an interior humidity sensor located at the top of the windscreen. The information provided by this sensor allows for more precise air recirculation in the passenger compartment, thereby saving the battery’s energy when heating and regulating the temperature inside the vehicle. This feature is most noticeable when there is low outside temperature.
Peugeot has also reduced the trim levels available across the 2008 range in response to customer feedback. The Peugeot 2008 and Peugeot e-2008 will now be available in Active Premium, Allure Premium, GT, and GT Premium trim levels, with the Allure trim no longer available due to customer demands for higher vehicle specification levels.
Peugeot has made minor changes on the interior and exterior design of the 2008 and e-2008 models. The new Black Diamond door mirror covers, coated in Nera Black Metallic paint, are now standard on all Active Premium and Allure Premium variants. New A+ tires are also now standard on the Allure Premium and GT variants. The Mistral Black Alcantara seats, which replace the Greval Grey Alcantara seats, are now available on all e-2008 GT Premium variants.
The Peugeot e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery and a 100kW electric motor, making it capable of reaching 214 miles on a single charge. It has a 0% BIK rate, thanks to zero tailpipe emissions. It can be charged from zero to 80% in about 30 minutes.
For the new 2008 range, customers can choose among the 1.2-liter PureTech 100 petrol engine, 1.2-liter PureTech 130 petrol engine, 1.2-liter PureTech 155 petrol engine, and 1.5-liter BlueHDi 110 diesel engine. The BlueHDi 110 and PureTech 100 variants are mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the PureTech 130 and PureTech 155 are paired to Peugeot’s EAT8 automatic transmission.
Active Premium variants come standard with 16-inch “Elborn” alloy wheels and “Black Diamond” door mirrors. It is also equipped with LED daytime running lights with Peugeot’s signature “Tooth” design. Automatic EcoLED headlight and automatic windscreen wipers are also featured as standard. The Active Premium variants also come with Peugeot’s latest i-Cockpit that features a compact steering wheel, a seven-inch capacitive touchscreen, and a 3.5-inch Color Matrix instrument display. Mirror Screen offers the most up-to-date smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Rear parking sensors, Active Safety Brake with pedestrian detection, and an electrochrome rear view mirror all help to improve safety on the road.
Meanwhile, Allure Premium variants get 17-inch Salamanca diamond cut alloy wheels, gloss black longitudinal roof rails, a gloss black rear bumper, and silver trim on the lower front bumper. Peugeot 3D i-Cockpit with a customizable heads-up instrument panel replaces the standard i-Cockpit interior, while Visio Park 1 with a 180-degree Color Reversing Camera and Active Safety Brake with a night function and cyclist and pedestrian detection further improve safety.
GT petrol variants get dark chrome checkered and gloss black radiator grille, as well as bespoke GT badging. The sporty look is further enhanced by chrome exhaust pipes, a diamond black roof, and a rear spoiler, The cabin comes standard with heated seats with tri-material Capy leather effect and Isabella cloth seat trim with lime green double stitch detail. Meanwhile, the compact steering wheel is redesigned with Mistral full-grain perforated leather with Lime Green stitch detail.
The interior lighting, which comes in eight different color options, adds to the mood. The vehicle is also equipped with full-LED headlights with Smartbeam Assist. Peugeot’s trademark 3-Claw insignia is featured on the LED daytime running lights.
All GT variants come with a smartphone charging plate and a 10-inch Capacitive Color Touchscreen with Peugeot Connected 3D Navigation, which includes a three-year subscription to traffic alerts. Onboard safety is further enhanced by front parking sensors and blind spot monitoring.
Top-of-the-line GT Premium variants are fitted with either 18-inch Bund diamond cut alloy wheels (petrol variants) or 18-inch Evissa diamond cut alloy wheels with a Black Mist finish (e-2008 only). The cabin seats are designed with a tri-material mistral black Alcantara and cloth seat trim with Lime Green stitch detail. Peugeot Open and Go keyless entry adds convenience to the driving experience. Meanwhile, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Positioning Assist improves safety when driving on highways.
