The all-electric version of the Peugeot 2008 SUV, the e-2008 is one of the most affordable electric premium compact SUVs on sale in the Philippines. The new Peugeot e-2008 has arrived in the Philippines in the facelifted form of the first-generation version, which is solely available here in its fully loaded GT variant, which is priced at PHP 1.75 million. The six colour options on offer for the Peugeot e-2008 are Selenium Grey, Okenite White, Vertigo Blue, Artense Grey, Pearl Nera Black, and Elixir Red.

Peugeot e-2008 Interior & Features
The youthful-looking cabin layout of the Peugeot e-2008 has been shared with the ICE version of the 2008, with the electric version of the SUV having a different all-black artificial leather upholstery and a couple of new bits. The unique 3D i-Cockpit design with configurable 3D head-up instrument console makes the cabin of the e-2008 look refreshing.
The cabin of the Peugeot e-2008 also has a 10-inch full-TFT touchscreen infotainment system, that is slightly tilted towards the driver’s side. The upper layer of the dashboard is finished in soft-touch plastics, while the lower dashboard layer has dramatic-looking hexagonal AC vents. The multi-functional steering wheel has a Mistral full-grain perforated leather finish with ’ Adamite green stitch detail and a satin chrome “GT” emblem.
The Peugeot e-2008 is loaded with new-age features like an e-Toggle drive selector in the lower centre console, panoramic sunroof, 8-colour ambient lighting, front centre armrest with storage console, aluminium sports pedals and powered driver’s seat. The space on the inside is pretty decent, though we do wish that the rear seats were more spacious.
e-2008 Exterior
Seeking inspiration from the larger Peugeot SUVs, the e-2008 is in its facelifted version, which features a few design alterations over the previous version that make it look fresher than before.
The front fascia of the Peugeot e-2008 has a revised design for the wide trapezoidal grille, which now has segmented chrome slats laid out vertically and angularly. The angular headlamps placed adjacent to the grille feature new LED projectors, with the e-2008 now having revised LED DRLs, which are housed in the faux air vents placed on the bumper corners.
With unique creases and lines over the panels, the Peugeot e-2008 has a gloss black theme for the roof and pillars, with the side profile having a good stance courtesy of the new 18-inch machined alloy wheels. The dynamic-looking rear profile of the Peugeot e-2008 has full LED 3D Peugeot signature lights with revised triple-slat LED inserts, which also extend further in the black garnish strip running between the tail lamps.
Peugeot e-2008 Ride & Handling
The Peugeot e-2008 has MacPherson independent suspension, coil springs and anti-roll bar, with helical spring and shock absorbers hydraulics at the front and axle twisting-beam Type, with helical spring and shock absorbers hydraulics. This suspension setup has been tuned to deliver a plush ride quality, with the electric SUV having three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – for a fine-tuned driving experience.
e-2008 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Peugeot e-2008 is only available in the front wheel drive configuration, with the SUV having a 100kW electric motor, that generates 134 bhp and 270 Nm and enables the e-2008 to have a top speed of 150 kmph and 9.1-second timing for the 0-100 kmph run. The Peugeot e-2008 also has a 54kWh battery, which claims a maximum range of 436 km (WLTP-certified).
Peugeot e-2008 Braking & Safety
While the Peugeot e-2008 has basic safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, cruise control with speed limiter, front and rear parking sensors, 180-degree VisioPark camera and tyre pressure monitoring system, it also has a few advanced driving assistance features like automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and more.
e-2008 Verdict
With minimal design tweaks and a few minor feature add-ons over the regular 2008 SUV make the Peugeot e-2008 fresher in its approach as a vehicle for new-age motoring. While there are still a few features missing, the e-2008 has covered most of the grounds with a contemporary cabin, supple ride quality, and decent performance.
