Peugeot scores double win in 2022 CCT100 Awards

MANILA: Peugeot bagged two accolades at this year’s Company Car Today CCT100 Awards. The Peugeot 208 was named as the “Supermini of the Year,” while the 5008 continued its impressive record in these awards by being named as the “SUV of the Year” for fifth year in a row.

In a statement, Peugeot UK Managing Director Julie David said, “I’m pleased to see that the Peugeot 208 and the 5008 have been so warmly received by Company Car Today — especially that the 5008 has been recognized for leading its class for the past five successive years! Both models offer drivers incredible practicality. While the Peugeot 5008 is one of our largest passenger car models, the 208 offers drivers with the option to make the switch over to electrification, while maintaining the style and practical ability that has made our model range so successful.”

The CCT100 is a list compiled by the Company Car Today featuring 100 vehicles that suit the needs of UK business owners. Among the 13 factors considered while evaluating the top five models in each category are emissions, pricing, running costs, company car tax, practicality, desirability, breadth of offering, driving pleasure, and car park appeal. The top-ranked models from each category are recognized as the Company Car Today CCT100 Award winners.

The Peugeot 5008 wowed the judges with its roomy interior, which comes standard with seven independent seats and a practical cabin that features the award-winning Peugeot i-Cockpit. Among the latest connectivity and safety features available for the 5008 are Night Vision, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Active Blind Spot Detection. Its efficient PureTech petrol and Blue HDi diesel engines, as well as the option of an eight-speed automatic transmission, help fleet operators save fuel costs.

The Peugeot 208, on the other hand, comes with a choice of diesel or petrol engines, as well as a 100% electric e-208 with a 50kWh battery and a 100kW electric motor that can go up to 362 km on a single charge. The e-208 also supports up to 100kW fast charging, with a zero-to-80% charging time of just 30 minutes. It has been commended for its head-turning look that makes it stand out on the road.
