Porsche to Debut Next-gen Panamera in 2016 Geneva Motor Show
MANILA: It has been revealed that the next-generation Porschek Panamera will debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 in March. The news was confirmed by outgoing Porsche chief Matthias Muller, who was recently named the new chief executive of the Volkswagen Group.
The new Porsche Panamera is based on the new MSB architecture from the Volkswagen Group. Additionally, the new Panamera will use aluminium in order to balance the weight like the 991-generation Porsche 911. The company claims that the 2017 Porsche Panamera should weigh between 1800-1900 kg depending on its configuration. Apart from the weight reduction, the new Panamera will come equipped with more technically upgraded features than the existing car.
Panamera will be introduced with brand new type of engines under its hood. The engines will reportedly comprise of turbocharged diesel V6 and V8 petrol engines along with the continuation of the hybrid variant called the ‘S E-Hybrid’.
Meanwhile, The Company has announced about the plans of releasing a production version of the all-electric hybrid Mission E concept by the end of the decade.
