Renault-Nissan Alliance Big Plans for 2016 to 2020, Zero Emissions Zero Fatalities
MANILA: Renault-Nissan Alliance is active from March 27, 1999, and since then the two companies have grown from each other support both in the sales and tech front. The fruit of this long grown auto-manufacture alliance is now directing towards a big leap in autonomous vehicles. The companies recently revealed their plans to introduce as many as ten autonomous vehicles this year and apart from that they also shared the future blueprint of Renault-Nissan Alliance.
By future, we mean a plan that go as far as 2020, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault and chairman of the Renault-Nissan alliance gave full detail about the said poly. According to him, Nissan-Renault autonomous technologies will be debuted in 2016 itself. In addition, a Renault-Nissan mobile app, Alliance Multimedia System will also go on floor this year. Like the Volvo on Call App, this one too will connect you from your car, helping it giving important directions, like navigation, temperature, music and other settings beforehand.
Coming on the future prospects, till 2018 Renault-Nissan enthusiastic team aims at developing a multi-lane control system that unlike the single lane control is not restricted to drive the car on highways and traffic. But will be capable enough to commute through tricky paths and when required it can go for a lane change. As for 2020, the said auto-manufacture alliance is planning to introduce intersection autonomy. With which you will get the taste of a real autonomous vehicle, as they would enable the autonomous vehicle to drive through heavy city traffic and cross busy intersections effortlessly.
At the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan launched its IDS autonomous concept that was a carbon-fiber integrated vehicle aimed at providing a digital approach to driving. So, chances are that we’ll get to see some clues of the above Nissan creation in the upcoming ten Renault-Nissan autonomous vehicles.
The future of auto industry seems to be declining more towards autonomous cars, as brands like Volvo (Concept 26), Kia ( Advanced Driver Assistance System), and Ford (under Google Ford collaboration) are working dedicatedly in the said field.
