Renewable energy will power Shell Mamplasan
MANILA: The Shell Mamplasan mobility site, which is situated along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Biñan, Laguna, will be powered by renewable energy from Shell Energy Philippines (SEPH). A combination of solar, geothermal, and hydro energies will be used to power the station with Shell Recharge charging points.

Shell Mamplasan is the second Shell mobility site to use renewable energy from SEPH. The first one was the Shell North Luzon Tollway 1 in Balagtas, Bulacan.
SEPH is a retail electricity supplier under the Shell Group providing industrial and commercial customers in the Philippines with cost-effective and environmentally friendly energy solutions. To fulfill the varying needs of its customers, it provides a wide range of energy sources, from fully renewable energies to traditional electricity supply.
In 2020, Shell started converting its retail fuel stations into one-stop mobility hubs with sustainable solutions. Compared to a traditional site, these solutions help reduce energy use by about 30%.
SciP has also begun using renewable energy sources in its headquarters. The SciP office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig and the Shell Import Facility in Tabangao, Batangas are now also powered by renewable energy.
The on-site solar farm at the Shell Import Facility has 5,220 solar panels and seven inverters, and can produce up to 300 megawatt-hour.
