Rolls-Royce Dawn showcased at the #2015FrankfurtMotorShow
MANILA: After taking on the world with its high-profile online debut, the Rolls Royce Dawn has finally arrived at the 66th Frankfurt International Motor Show. The royal blue colored car looked phenomenal and won many hearts at the event, it seemed as if the Dawn with its arrival brought a dull moment for all the others automakers present at the event. What can be noted is the fact that this new car apart from carrying some breathtaking looks, also carried forward the old heritage that was started with the 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn drophead.
Speaking of its design theme, the car is based on the same 2:1 concept ratio that indicates towards a wheel height to body height dimension, and leads to a long bonnet with short front overhangs, a tapering rear graphic and high shoulder room. The new Rolls-Royce stands apart from other inmates and is bestowed with an 80% newly crafted body panels. This four-seat super luxury drophead was constructed with only one thing in mind, to 'make a car that looks as beautiful with its roof up as with its roof down'. Like its name, Dawn brings in a fresh morning breeze and is incorporated with class-apart exterior body work. From the rectangular grille to the creepy looking headlights, sleek door handles to smooth wheel arches, small but statement making taillights to a wide rear bonnet, everything looks like work of a great artist.

And Rolls-Royce is indeed a great artist, and this fact further gets proved by looking at the dull orange colored interior space. The opted colour choice goes well with the woodwork that seem to make frequent appearance in the cabin. The car-maker has used open-pore wood on the deck surrounding the rear seat, center console, center tunnel and also on the lower side of door panels. The entire cabin area is designed to give a retro feel but, is stuffed with latest technologies. Dawn comes equipped with automatic cruise control system and is also fitted with one of a kind software for the radar and camera located on the front bumper valance and windscreen. In addition, the car is armed with roll-over protection system that will deploy a protection shield from behind the rear head restraints to the windscreen. GPS system, Satellite Aided Transmission, and adaptive LED headlights are also included in the long feature list.
“Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date, and begins a new age of open-top, super-luxury motoring. Dawn is a beautiful new motor car that offers the most uncompromised open-top motoring experience in the world. It will be the most social of super-luxury drophead motor cars for those who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s most exclusive social hotspots. Quite simply, it is the sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built.”
Called as the quite soft-top of all times, Rolls-Royce claims that you will not feel a thing while driving. And all this is possible thanks to the French Seam that ensures the air flowing over the roof moves smoothly without making any noise. Twenty seconds is all it takes to move the top that can be operated when driving at a speed of 50 kmpl.
Now it's time to check under the hood specification, Dawn is propelled by a 6.6-litre twin turbocharge V-12 engine, capable enough to generate 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque when mated with a ZF eight-speed transmission. So, now just wait up till the second quarter of 2016 when the Dawn will finally be available for sale in the market.
