Saving time through ORRAS: RFID stickering appointments soon possible
MANILA: All expressway motorists will soon have a way of skipping the long, tedious lines through the new system of Easytrip called the Online RFID Reservation and Appointment System (ORRAS).
The goal of the ORRAS is to offer users of the Metro Pacific Tollways network a pre-scheduled and optional approach to obtain their radio-frequency identification (RFID) sticker.
ORRAS involves the scanning of a QR code for customers to be able to schedule an appointment date at existing installation sites and do advance registration.
An e-mail QR code confirmation of the exact time slot, date, and location will be sent to the customer. During the appointment date at the specified installation site, the customer needs to show the e-mail confirmation.
Easytrip Corporation will first open by appointment-only RFID sticker installation in specific sites in Valenzuela City, Sta. Rosa City, Biñan City, Bacoor City, Taguig City, Pasay City, Las Piñas City, and Parañaque City such as the following:
- Cavitex Parañaque Plaza Northbound
- Cavitex Parañaque Plaza Southbound
- C5 South Link Westbound
- CALAX Greenfield (Mamplasan)
- Shell Pamplona, Alabang-Zapote Rd., Las Piñas City
- Shell Panapaan, Bacoor, Cavite (in front of Puregold Bacoor)
- Shell Real 2, Aguinaldo Highway, Imus, Cavite (near Maynilad – Welcome to Imus Arch)
- NLEX Drive and Dine, Canumay West, Valenzuela City
More appointment-only sites will be announced in the next few months.
MPT South President and General Manager Roberto Bontia said, “The idea is to provide other options for motorists who prefer advance booking to get their RFID stickers and avoid the long queues. All they need to do is reserve their slots online even after December 1 to get their RFIDs.”
He added that the motorists can also select the time and date that they want.
Bontia said, “For example, if you are going to Tagaytay on January 2, 2021 you can choose that day, the location and the time convenient for you, have your RFID installed and off you go.”
ORRAS is convenient to use and here are few of the fundamental steps that motorists should follow upon securing their appointments:
- The Easytrip QR code can be seen in the websites, Instagram and Twitter accounts as well as FB pages of Cavite Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the Easytrip website and FB page.
- They should complete the registration.
- Upon successful registration, the motorist’s preferred location, time, and date must be selected. All motorists must guarantee the accuracy and completeness of their information.
- An e-mail with a confirmation QR code will be sent to them upon successful registration.
On the day of the motorist’s appointment, here are the things he or should do:
- Carry along with him/her the confirmation email with QR code.
- Practice social distancing. The motorist should not alight from the vehicle his/her vehicle since an Easytrip Assistant will approach the motorist for scanning of the QR code.
- The initial load (P500 for NLEX, P200 for CALAX and CAVITEX) should be paid after the validation process.
- Easytrip RFID stickers shall then be installed through the help of the Easytrip staff.
ORRAS can be scanned through an app scanner from IOS and Android stores.
