Hertz Philippines began its A2Z journey with voluntary carbon offsetting. Carbon credits are used to offset the emissions, and Shell acquired them for Hertz Philippines from an international selection of approved projects.
Every year, Shell is going to issue a retirement certification attesting to the offset of the fuel's emissions. Hertz's account is automatically charged, and they can keep using their Shell Card to refuel.
A reputable third-party company externally audits and verifies this certificate and process.
Since 2011, Hertz Philippines has been using Shell Fleet Cards for its fuel needs. The long-standing partnership between the two firms has just taken another step forward with the A2Z Program.
“We at Hertz Philippines are really honored to be working together with Shell on this new project that is valuable not only to us, and not only to Shell, but is also a first step for future generations,” Limcaoco added.
