Shell opens 3rd Recharge station in PH
Teams up with NEO to establish brand's first-ever 100% geothermal EV charging facility
MANILA: Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC) and sustainable real estate firm NEO have forged a partnership in putting the latest electric vehicle (EV) facility in Taguig City.

The new facility is Shell's first-ever 100-percent geothermal-powered charger around the world.The said station is the latest addition to the growing Shell Recharge network in the country. Earlier, SPC opened charging facilities in Shell SLEX (South Luzon Expressway) along Mamplasan and at the recently-inaugurated Shell TPLEX (Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway) Exit in Rosario, La Union.
Per SPC, EV owners can use the Seven/NEO BGC charging facility for free. The Shell Recharge station there has a pair of AC 22-kilowatt charging points that is capable of juicing up two vehicles simultaneously.
Further, the newly-opened charging station in the country is Shell’s first-ever 100-percent geothermal powered charger around the world.
“Shell is already a global leader in the EV space, and we are happy to work with our customers and partners across private and public sectors as we decarbonize Mobility and power progress in the Philippines. NEO is a leader in sustainable real estate and shares Shell’s vision of a lower carbon future,” Shell Vice President for Mobility Randy Del Valle shared.
The first electric vehicles to charge using the new station were Shell’s fleet of electric service vehicles used to service staff.
Led by its chief executive officer Raymond Rufino (who also sits in the Urban Land Institute FY24 advisory board), NEO is the country’s first net-zero portfolio of buildings. The establishments were certified with the Philippine Green Building Council’s (PhilGBC) Advancing Net Zero Philippines and the International Finance Corporation’s EDGE Zero Carbon.
