Shell supports ‘Ingat Angat’ campaign for public health and safety
MANILA: Shell Philippines expressed its commitment and support for the Ingat Angat Tayong Lahat campaign launched yesterday. In a release, the energy company said this is in line with its continuous efforts to be one of the key players toward the economic recovery of the country amid the pandemic.
Ingat Angat is a private sector-initiated consumer confidence program that is targeted towards supporting the improvement of treatment, testing, and isolation centers in the country.
During these challenging times, Shell acknowledges the role of the retail sector not just as a provider of essential products and services but also as one of the means to boost public health and safety.
Thus, the goal of the Ingat Angat initiative and Shell is to foster an atmosphere where people can be confident, secure, and optimistic that they can rise above this situation as one.
Through its collaboration with the private sector, Ingat Angat will make public information on proper health protocols available virtually and in stores to help mitigate COVID-19 transmission in public areas.
This program explores the need to change perspectives and embed a new level of safety culture into the lifestyles of everyone as people gradually return to their routines and livelihood in the midst of the pandemic.
Nevertheless, safety is said to be a mutual obligation that companies and consumers must be take into account.
Vice President for Retail of Shell Randy Del Valle said, “At Shell, keeping communities safe is at the core of our business. Since we began our operations, we have been committed to protecting people and the environment through our health, security, safety, environment standards, and social performance programs. We believe it is only through cross-sectoral collaboration that we can reopen our economy safely and go beyond just protecting lives—but enriching them.”
Ingat Angat upholds a systematic approach towards reducing the spread of the coronavirus. As of early August, 99 laboratories were officially established and 1,830,234 tests have also been conducted nationwide. The main goal is to carry out 10 million tests across the country by June 2021.
Beyond implementation of safety initiatives, the campaign also seeks to improve public morale for people to be able to navigate the new normal with full confidence.
