Six new cars to roll out of the Renault Samsung Motors’ facilities in 2020
MANILA: Ever since its commencement in 2000, the Renault Samsung Motors has gone on to become one of the top five automakers in South Korea. The company has now become a household brand in the country, and that can also be justified by the fact that it has grabbed the top stop for customer satisfaction in sales and after-sales 15 years on the trot. Now, in 2020, as the automaker celebrates its 20th anniversary, there will be as many as six new cars coming out with the Renault Samsung Motors badging.
The year 2020 will see Renault Samsung Motors introducing six new cars including the likes of the XM3, third-generation model of the ZOE EV, and the QM3. "In the first quarter of 2020, we will launch a crossover XM3 model that combines the strengths of sedans and SUVs. Also, we will present a fully-changed QM3 model as well as the third generation of the global bestselling electric car ZOE in the first half of this year", said Renault Samsung Motors CEO Dominic Senora.

The QM6, which is a sport utility vehicle (SUV), was the undoubted leader of the pack with 47,640 sales. This meant that the SUV accounted for 54.8% of the total sales witness by the automaker. In December 2019 alone, Renault Samsung Motors sold 7,557 units of the QM6 SUV, which was just after six months from the unveiling of mid-sized SUV's reconstructed model.
According to Renault Samsung Motors, the customer trends in South Korean change in quick succession, and the automakers need to keep bringing in just the right offerings to clinch on to high sales figures by fulfilling the demand. Moreover, it was the QM6 LPe, a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) powered version of the QM6 SUV that changed the whole game for the automaker. Even in the previous month, the QM6 LPe accounted for 64.9% of the total sales incurred by the mid-sized SUV. Other QM6 models on offer in the country include the QM6 GDe and QM6 dCi, which are powered by gasoline and diesel, respectively. As of now, the QM6 LPe leads the fleet as the "best-selling car", but the QM6 GDe is also not too far behind thanks to its high fuel-efficiency that reads 14.4 kmpl.
