Skoda Vision IN concept unveiled, official launch in 2021
MANILA: The Skoda Vision IN has been revealed. Taking cues from the Euro-spec Kamiq, the compact SUV flaunts a more sporty, rugged, and enticing appearance along with a long list of features and a specs sheet that incorporates a potent powertrain. With the passage of time, the Skoda Vision IN will take the form of a production model and hit the dealerships in the second quarter of 2021.
The Skoda Vision IN concept is based on the MQB A0 IN platform and already looks like a road-ready vehicle. With that said, Skoda should not be making any radical changes to the concept in order to make it a production car.
The exterior of the Skoda SUV comprises of a pair of sleek LED headlamps flanking an intimidating multi-slat grille. The LED headlamps are joined by a LED DRLs and a pair of fog lamps. The muscular appearance is further enhanced by a faux skid plate and large air dams.
Speaking of the side profile, the Skoda Vision IN is given a rugged look by the likes of sporty roof rails, blacked-out side cladding, bold shoulder line, and flared wheel arches. At last, a pair of L-shaped LED taillights and bold Skoda badging at the centre of the tailgate make the rear end of the SUV.
Hop inside the Skoda Vision IN and you are greeted by a sporty flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, large floating 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery with orange accents, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Coming on to the mechanical bits and pieces, the production model of the Skoda Vision IN will come housing a 1.0-litre TSI petrol-fed motor capable of pumping out 115 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 200 Nm.
For better fuel-efficiency, Skoda is also in plans to offer a CNG-powered variant as well. As for the transmission options, customers will get to choose from a manual gearbox and a DSG (dual-clutch automatic) automatic transmission.
All-set to be launched in India by Q2 2021, the production model of the Skoda Vision IN will rival the likes of Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, and the second-gen Hyundai Creta aka iX25.
