Subaru breaches 200K global sales from Jan.-May 2024

MANILA: Subaru has sold a total of 204,457 cars globally in the first five months of 2024.

According to the Japanese carmaker, 40,432 of the aforementioned figure was its domestic sales while the remaining 164,025 was its overall sales outside of the country.

Broken down, Subaru revealed that it sold 37,490 passenger vehicles as well as some 2,942 mini vehicles in its home country. Year-on-year, the said number showed a 5.1-percent decrease in Subaru’s overall domestic sales.

Its exports, likewise translated to a 5.2-percent dip compared to the same time period last year.

Subaru did not disclose which of its models were among its drivers. But in the Philippines, the carmaker’s roster consists of the Outback, Crosstrek, Forester, WRX (wagon and sedan), BRZ, and Evoltis.

Production-wise, Subaru built a total of 367,113 units from January to May. Of which, 199,348 were built domestically while 167,765 were made from the marque’s facilities outside of Japan.
