Suzuki Ciaz Sport Trim Showcased at Thailand Motor Expo 2015
MANILA: Suzuki Ciaz is the brand's first hybrid vehicle that has been introduced in many ASEAN countries like India and Thailand. As for us, Suzuki Motors Philippines is yet to introduce its hybrid machine in our island country. Well, the latest up-gradation in the said car is a sport variant that goes by the name RS and is recently launched at the ongoing Thailand Motor Expo 2015.
The RS version spots a sportier body kit that is supported by a lengthy body dimension. To be precise, this B-segment sedan measures 4490 mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1475 mm tall. With a wheelbase of 2650 mm, Suzuki Ciaz RS ensures an airy and comforting cabin space. So, dimension wise this latest sport version is a bit long when compared to its elder sibling. On the outer front, the car gets more or less similar design language with a smooth bumper and standard four lined grille. The car also gets a front spoiler that is accompanied by front fog lamps.
On the side profile the new Ciaz RS showcases chrome door handles, turn indicator fitted ORVM, prominent wheel arches with multi-spoke 16-inch wheels and side skirts that further amplify its sportier appeal. The rear end gets stylish tail lamps extending all the way to tailgate, rear spoiler, and steeper rear windshield.
Moving inside, one can notice black upholstery rightfully accompanied by few chrome trims. Occupants comfort is taken care by cozy leather wrapped seats, 7-inch Suzuki Smart Connect infotainment system that comes coupled with Apple CarPlay Link system.
Under its hood lies a 1.25-Litre K12B 4-CYL 16 valve mill that generates maximum power of 91 hp @ 6000 rpm with a peak torque of 118 Nm @ 4800 rpm. Ciaz RS, unlike its previous trim, is offered only with a CVT gearbox.
Suzuki Ciaz RS is currently on sale in the Thai market where it is offered in three color tones, Ablaze Red Pearl, Snow White Pearl and Super Black Pearl. The car is priced at THB 675,000 in the Thai market i.e about PhP 887,537 in our market.
So, let's hope Suzuki Philippines soon brings in both Suzuki Ciaz and is new sporty trim RS in our market.
