Take care of each other, says Shell on Independence Day
MANILA: Pilipinas Shell observes Independence Day while acknowledging it is "an unprecedented time of uncertainty and difficulty." In a release, the energy company's VP for Retail Randy Del Valle averred that, "Filipinos are not powerless. and as long as everyone thinks of and moves for each other, the Philippines will bounce back."
To mark our great republic's 122th Independence Day, the company's forecourt staff, "modern-day heroes who work to support the community," will give origami doves to every guest in selected Shell gas stations. "These doves have a simple message of hope that reveals itself when you assemble the origami," said Shell.
Continued Del Valle, “Everything we have witnessed through the Filipino has given us reason to hope that the country will continue to bounce back and move forward... There is a lot more that we need to do as individuals and as communities for a better tomorrow. That’s why it’s important for us to hold onto this newfound hope. Let this origami dove serve as a reminder of this.”
He added that it is imperative for Filipinos to take care of each other amid this pandemic. "Simple acts of kindness, such as lending a space in your car for other commuters or even a small gesture like sanitizing a shopping cart after you use it can inspire others to be more compassionate."
Get Gas, Get Bigas
Participating Shell stations will feature the Get Gas, Get Bigas promo (until July 15), which gives customers one free kilo of rice for every purchase of either P2,000 or P1,500 worth of Shell FuelSave or Shell V-Power fuels, respectively.
Customers can also avail of P20 worth of items from Shell for every single purchase of either P750 or P500 worth of Shell FuelSave or Shell V-Power fuels, respectively.
Shell Select stores adhere to the strict observance of proper food handling, and shields have also been installed at the cashier to protect both customers and staff. Alcohol-based sanitizer is available at every station.
Customers may also continue to bring their vehicles to Shell Helix Oilchange+ Lube Bays for regular maintenance. All mechanics and receptionists practice the company’s safety procedures, and will thoroughly disinfect vehicles and other touch points before and after each maintenance transaction.
Much like the heroes of the past, Shell’s modern-day heroes work hard today to build a better tomorrow. Through the safety measures and aid they provide for customers and the community, Shell aims to boost recovery efforts so that the Philippines can get back on track as soon as possible. “Sa bahay, sa trabaho, o kahit sa serbisyo ng isa’t isa, ang bawat isa sa atin may magagawa (At home, at work, or in our service to each other, we call can do something),” said Del Valle. “Basta’t laging may magmamalasakit, Pilipinas, kaya natin ‘to (As long as there are selfless people, Philippines, we got this).”
