MANILA: The American electric car manufacturer – Tesla has a big announcement to make. The leader in its segment and expert in creating ravishing sedans and SUVs has announced that it has produced the quickest car in the world which can clock from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds. Wooh! This indeed is a revolutionary declaration to make and if what we heard is right then surely some hot wheels are coming to thrill all the way. The company has revealed that its Tesla Model S has been updated with a new battery pack in the top-end P100 D variant which is now 100 kWh. The ravishing electric sedan, with its newest battery pack, is capable of touching the naught to 100 kmph mark in unbelievable 2.5 seconds which is yet to be verified by authorities from different automobile units and organizations. If this information is found right in all respects, the new Model S would be the third fastest production car in the world sitting right next to Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. But then, here is one more interesting fact which some of you might be unaware of. The Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder models are already sold out in the international market making the new Model S only available hypercar and the fastest of all in the world for the prospective customers. We would like to refresh your memory with the recent time when this same model hit the headlines. Tesla Model S is still under the screening for safety issues since it bumped into a trailer this July, killing one person onboard while running on auto-pilot mode.
The American giant has not only updated the Model S but its Model X also. This model was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show for the first time and instantly made a few fans. The top variant of Model X is also equipped with a new battery pack, making it clock the 100 kmph mark from naught in 2.9 seconds. This data is good enough to make this SUV the fastest one in its segment. The new battery has also given an extension to the maximum running range at one go after full recharge, counting till 465 kms now.
Surely, Ferrari and Porsche must be keeping a close eye on its new rival which has given them a close call in the speed business. Can we expect some more thrill coming soon from other automakers? We have to wait to watch it!
