Tesla to Add New Autonomous Driving features in Model X Firmware 7.0
MANILA: Tesla might have not talked much about the autonomous drive feature at the Model X launch but the leaked screenshots of the firmware 7.0 depict that some significant upgradations have been made throughout the firmware, therefore, it will come with features like automatic lane changing and self-parallel parking.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has said that the Model X will be priced somewhere at a $5,000 equivalent to PhP 232097.50 premium compared to the Model S. That means the SUV will cost in between $80,000 (Php3713560.00) to $110,000 (5106145.00Php) range. The top trims will come with the speed boost option, which manages to take the SUV from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds.
The doors are expected to be fully automated and the user might get the access to a hydraulic height adjustment system which could let them adjust the height as per the road conditions and the driving style. Tesla claims that the doors are actuated independently and they can calculate the arc based on the available space. The best part of the firmware is that the user can download recent updates while driving via Wi-Fi, 3G or LTE similarly we do with our smartphones.
Undoubtedly, the software will enhance the SUV’s self-driving features such as automatic lane-changing and self-parallel-parking capabilities. Apart from this, the Model X gets a heater equipped steering wheel along with cold weather controls. Some dashboard-graphics improvements can also be noticed in the model X. In short, Tesla is trying to make the firmware user friendly and make the interface simple and responsive.
