The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage is what we've always wanted it to look like

MANILA: Let us be the first to say it: This is the Mirage we want here.

It may be just a mid-cycle refresh, but the Mitsubishi Mirage and its sibling the Mirage G4 look hot with the extensive exterior updates that they get for the model year 2021.

The façade is flatter and clearly sports a B-segment version of the "Dynamic Shield" design, albeit in a much simpler form. The grille is a lot slimmer but plain and it comes with two slats with red highlights instead of three slats from the previous design.

Headlamps have been redesigned to be slightly sharper and thinner but they're still positioned on both sides of the grille. The design on the Xpander, which was the first model to debut the Dynamic Shield, puts the headlamps just below the grille.

The front bumper has clearly been reshaped to accommodate the C-shaped chrome accents that underscore the Shield and instead of the headlamps, it now encases the same fog lamps from the previous model.

It loses the fin on the front fenders but still keeps the turn lights on the case of the sideview mirrors.

The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage and Mirage G4 will still be powered by a one-liter, in-line three-cylinder engine putting out 77hp and 100Nm of torque.

It is set to go on sale in the US by the first quarter of 2021.
