The awards keep coming for the Hyundai Ioniq 5

MANILA: Another Car of the Year award has been given to the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This time, it received the  overall "UK Car of the Year 2022" honor.

    In July 2021, the Ioniq 5 was named Car of the Year in the 2021 Auto Express New Car Awards, and also triumphed in the Mid-Size Company Car, Premium Electric Car and Design categories.

    There was further success in October when it was crowned Best Designed Car of the Year in the 2021 News UK Motor Awards, and also awarded Motoring Innovation of the Year for its relaxation seats and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality

    Around the same time, the Ioniq 5 was recognized in the Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2022, where it was named Best Company Car and Best Family Electric Car, and Best Car at the 2021 EE Pocket-lint Awards.

    In 2022, the EV won another Car of the Year title at the Company Car and Van awards, and overall winner plum in the 2022 Company Car Today CCT 100 Awards and Premium EV of the Year. 

    With a 72.6kWh battery, the Ioniq 5 can drive around 470 to 480 kilometers on a single charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

    The EV's V2L function enables the car to be a power source for any electrical equipment, such as laptops and e-scooters.
