Toyota PH to launch all-new Veloz on Apr. 29, priced from P1.185-M

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will expand its SUV lineup with the launch of the 2022 Veloz on April 29. 

The launch of the 2022 Toyota Veloz  subcompact SUV will be broadcast live on TMP's Facebook and YouTube channels on April 29 at 11 a.m.

Pricing for the all-new Veloz starts at P1.185 million, while authorized Toyota dealers across the country will start accepting reservations on April 23, TMP said. 

"Previously known as the top-grade variant of the Avanza compact MPV range, the Veloz has evolved to become a new standalone brand ready to claim its position as a subcompact SUV of choice for customers seeking new adventures," TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim stated in a release. 

As it is based on the 2022 Avanza, the 2022 Veloz shares a body with the MPV but wears a redesigned fascia to make it its unique from the Avanza. In the Thailand market, the 2022 Veloz is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine and configurable rear seats, among other features, similar to the MPV. 

TMP has not yet released the full details of the 2022 Avanza, but a source told ZIGWHEELS PHILIPPINES that there will be two grades — the 1.5 G CVT and 1.5 G CVT (the latter priced at P1.225 million). The Veloz will be available in four colors: Platinum White Pearl Mica (which commands a premium of P15,000), Purplish Silver Mica Metallic, Black Metallic, and Dark Red Mica Metallic. The Veloz will get 17-inch alloys fitted with 205/50 tires.

The higher variant of the Veloz will get Toyota Safety Sense features — pre-collision system, automatic high beam, and lane departure alert. Other safety goodies include the blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, and the four SRS airbags — which previously appeared in the range-topping Avanza G CVT.

For a closer look of the 2022 Veloz, TMP will showcase the subcompact SUV at the BGC Amphitheater in BGC from April 29 to May 1 and at Toyota dealerships starting April 29.
