Toyota unveils limited-edition GR Supra in North America

MANILA: Toyota has introduced a special A91- Carbon Fiber (CF) Edition for the 2022 GR Supra lineup in North America.

This special edition is the most exclusive Mark V Supra ever, limited to only 600 units. It has everything of the style, performance, and technology that drivers expect, as well as the meticulous attention to detail that fits a racing legend. This eye-catching new limited-run special edition is guaranteed to sell fast with its aggressive, sleek design of handmade carbon fiber accent and duckbill spoiler.

GR Supra also comes in 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and 2.0 variants. The 3.0 variants come standard with heated seats, while the 3.0 Premium now has a red leather-trimmed interior option. Apple CarPlay is available in full-screen mode on models with Premium Audio package.

The Supra 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and A91-CF Edition are all powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that churns out 382hp and accelerates from a standstill to 60mph in 3.9 seconds. The 2.0 serves as an intermediate model between the GR86 and Supra 3.0, with its 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine that can propel it from zero to 60 mph in just five seconds.

Supra’s latest iteration continues to find new ways to combine speed, power, and style. It still comes standard with dynamic eight-speed Z-F8 transmission with paddle shifters, Adaptive Variable Sport suspension and active rear sport differential, and front Brembo brakes with red calipers and imprinted silver Toyota Supra badge.

Color is always a crowd-pleaser, and GR does it in style. The exterior colors for the 2.0 and 3.0 are Absolute Zero, Nitro Yellow, Nocturnal Renaissance Red 2.0, Tungsten, and Turbulence Gray. The 3.0 Premium also comes in Phantom. Meanwhile, the A91-CF Edition is available in Absolute Zero, Nitro Yellow, and Phantom colors. The interiors of the 2.0 and 3.0 are black Alcantara/leather, while the 3.0 Premium gets black or red leather. The A91-CF Edition comes with a special mix of black and red Alcantara and leather.

Handmade carbon fiber on the front splitter with larger canards distinguishes the GR Supra A91-CF Edition, while carbon fiber rockers define the sides. The carbon fiber treatment continues at the back, with a duckbill spoiler catching the air on top and larger, lower canards collecting air below.

This aero package is not just for style, as it also enhances downforce and stability during daily drives and hot laps around the track. Furthermore, the A91-CF Edition’s distinctive 19-inch wheels have a matte-black texture that matches the available matte-gray Phantom paint color.

The interior of the GT Supra A91-CF Edition Is also unique and elegant, with a red-and-black motif running throughout the Alcantara-and-leather-trimmed cabin. The red stitching details can also be found on the standard 14-way power adjustable, heated sport seats. The A91-CF Edition is also equipped with a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel and sport pedals.

Like the rest of the Supra lineup, the A91-CF Edition has an 8.8-inch touchscreen with touchpad control, navigation, user-friendly wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, AM/FM radio, and a three-month SiriusXM All Access trial. The A91-CF and 3.0 Premium also comes with a 500W 12-speaker JBL audio system. The 2.0 has a four-speaker sound system, while the 3.0 has a 10-speaker sound system.

All GR Supra variants come standard with intelligent safety features such as pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and speed limit information.

Buyers of 2.0 and 3.0 variants can also opt to upgrade to the Safety & Technology Package which is composed of12-speaker 500W JBL audio system, wireless AppleCarPlay with full-screen capability, dynamic radar cruise control, navigation, blind spot monitor (BSM), rear cross traffic alert (RCTA), speed limit information, parking sensors with emergency braking function, and Supra Connected Services trial that includes remote services, remote maintenance, automatic emergency call, real-time traffic information, stolen vehicle recovery, and map updates.

Toyota also offers a Driver’s Assist Package for 3.0 Premium and A91-CF Edition. This includes dynamic radar cruise controls, BSM, RCTA, and parking sensors with emergency braking function.

Toyota Connected Services, which include emergency calling, roadside assistance, remote control lock/ventilation, real-time traffic information, map updates, and Toyota Supra Online, are available on all GR Supra variants.

Every purchase of 2022 GR Supra A91- Carbon Fiber (CF) Edition comes with a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). This membership includes a free High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and discounted admission to NASA-sanctioned events. The HPDE Program is a closed-course high-performance driving school run by NASA. It is intended for licensed drivers of streetcars such as the GR Supra. It is an all-day course that includes classroom education, on-track driving, and opportunities to interact with other sports car aficionados. For all beginner drivers, instructors are provided at no cost.

The 2022 GR Supra is now available in all Toyota dealerships in North America. Pricing starts at US$43,290.
