Toyota Vios, a very popular choice among car modifiers
Toyota Vios is one of the sportiest-looking small sedans in the Philippines market and is very edgy on its design. In fact, the styling geniuses start off from the front fascia that holds a thin sedated grille in the regular section but a rather rugged and huge one on the bumper lower down.
The same elements are carried forward to the side and rear end too. The sides have a few defining curves spanning across the length of the car. Get back to the rear and you will find an equally attractive approach with a set of sharp split tail lamps. The silhouette of the sedan looks amazing and would remind you of a coupe with a very slow gradient C-pillar and a short boot section.
However, did you know that this Toyota Vios can be a perfect model for modification purposes as well? Well, thanks to the awesome design, a few visual tweaks and additions, and it turns out to be a racy track-focused car.
Not buying the fact? Here is a couple of independent modified versions of the Vios that take car modification to the next level.
Toyota Vios modified by Dominic Garcia from Mandaluyong
The Toyota Vios, as modified by Dominic Garcia, attempts to take this passenger car to the race tracks. Take a look at the low slung front hood with a low lip and the heavy and prominent wheel arches. All of this takes a very enticing appeal with the purple painted body.
According to Mr. Garcia, the modified Vios has been made to adopt the Thai-culture. And very rightly so, the car is considered to be a happening one back there in Thailand, while the Philippines sees a heavy chunk of it being taken up by the cab fleet.
Hence, with the added sportiness, the Vios might turn the tables here as well, with more number of units being used as personal cars.
The modification on the Thai-culture Toyota Vios appears to be complete and the maker appears to be satisfied with the way things have panned out. However, for a person who is deeply engrossed into cars, the night never seems to fall and any modification might not seem enough.
Toyota Vios modified by Gerald Cruz
Gerald Cruz has a rather soft story behind him upgrading his Toyota Vios. He dreamt about owning a car when he saw his son struggle to get comfortable on a long journey in a bus.
However, he did not make a lot of changes on the mechanism or the interior of the car as his son suffers from migraines and does not like a lot of noise. It has an external body kit added in order to get the front hood to be more low slung and the alloy wheels colors have been tweaked too. These modifications have kept him away from the people who wave their hands at him, thinking that it is a white taxi.
What the car is all about?
The Toyota Vios is the best-selling car in the Philippines, even if we minus the ones used for the cab fleet. It is offered in two trims - 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre. The smaller gasoline engine makes 98 hp of power and 123 Nm of torque while the bigger version makes do with 106 hp power and 140 Nm of torque.
