TRD kits for 2020 Toyota Yaris now available

MANILA: Despite recently unveiling the all-new Yaris, Toyota is at it again by announcing that TRD kits are already available for the beloved hatchback.

Most of the after-sales kits offered by the Toyota Racing Division (TRD) are cosmetic enhancements. For one, it offers 12 color scheme variants so you could pick which one best suits your personality. Other exterior enhancements being offered are

• New GR front spoiler to make your Yaris more macho
• Side skirts with the usual red accent
• Black matted rear side spoiler
• Front bumper garnish to complement the front spoiler
• Side decals for that rally race effect
• Aero turbulator made of synthetic rubber that helps improve straight-line stability by speeding up the side airflow
• Resin side visor to enhance the steering stability of the car.

There is also the 16 inches forged alloy wheels with nut set in a black matte finish to complete the look. The rims are best fitted with 185/55R16×4 size tires.

For riding comfort, TRD also offers a member brace for the 2020 Yaris that will reinforce the car’s body floor area from front to back. It will also allow the suspension to directly absorb any input from the ground. Other non-essential add on available are the GR Luggage Mat, GR Door Handle Protector, GR Carbon Number Frame, and IR Cut Window Film that deflects the sun rays and improves the efficacy of the AC system.

Right now, there is no word yet if the TRD Yaris kits will be exclusively distributed for the Japanese market or something that will be available for the global market. But considering the fact that Yaris is available elsewhere and that the TRD website for the Yaris kits has an English language version, it is highly likely that the TRD parts will be available for other Toyota markets.

If you are still unimpressed with just the cosmetic upgrades, Toyota is cooking up something special—the GR Yaris. This GR rally-inspired hatch will feature an all-wheel drivetrain and will have its debut next month at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon.
