MANILA: Tyson Sy, with his #88 MX-5 Spec Series race vehicle, has achieved back-to-back first-place finishes in the Shell Pro class at the fourth and final leg of the 2024 Manila Sports Car Club (MSCC) Miata Spec Series.

It was commenced in conjunction with the 2024 Mazda Fan Festa.
Sy showed his deep familiarity with the two-seater roadster platform with first-place finishes in Race 1 and 2. He likewise set the fastest lap of the event with a blistering fast time of 2 minutes and 17.379 seconds.
The race leader was followed closely by Juha Turalba, last year’s MSCC Miata Spec Series Champion. He showed consistency and grit with second-place finishes in both races of leg 4.
Guest Shell Pro class racer Mikey Jordan, meanwhile, likewise kept up the fight with third-place finishes for both Race 1 and 2.
Under the BRM Chronographes Master Class for racers aged 55 years old and above, the first race win went to Windy Imperial, followed by Toti Turalba in second place and Bong Brobio in third. Imperial and Turalba likewise finished up the second race in first and second places, respectively, followed by Jean Dejardin in third.
Last but not least, the GT Radial Sportsman Class saw Javier Toledo’s mettle, which gained him first place in Race 1. He was followed by fellow class competitors Enzo Celestino in second and Jeff Balao in third place.
For Race 2, the GT Radial Sportman Class’ finishing order saw a switch-up, with Balao improving his time to net a first-place finish. Under the same class, Celestino finished in second, and John Bornilla in third place.
The race results above are for the fourth leg of the MSCC Miata Spec Series only. Its organizers, MSCC and Mazda Philippines will announce the overall results of the current season at a later date.
2024 Mazda Fan Festa
Apart from the hot racing action of the Miata Spec Series, CIS also saw local Mazda car clubs, car owners, and guests come in strength at the 2024 Mazda Fan Festa event.
The clubs present at the said event include the likes of the Miata Club Philippines, Mazda CX-60 Owners, Mazda CX-5 Pilipinas, and Mazda3BP.
Members of the said clubs, as well as plenty of Mazda car owners, were treated to an opportunity to display their beloved vehicles and take on the agile curves and fast straights of the CIS.
Likewise present with booths at CIS during the weekend were the Mazda Fan Festa and Miata Spec Series partners, such as Pilipinas Shell, GT Radial, and BRM Chronographes - among others.
