Upcoming 2016 Volvo V90 captured uncovered
MANILA: Volvo Group, the renowned Swedish automaker, has planned to reveal its V90 model in the Geneva Motor Show. The new Volvo V90 will share some design accent from the S90 model. The car is likely to be a replacement for the present V70 model. The V70 model has been one of the popular and best-selling car from Volvo. The model has been captured with zero camouflage and the clear picture reveals its unique and distinguished body. V90 is likely to offer a hybrid variant running on electric motor as well. Recently, the brand’s tie up with Microsoft has been finalised and we may expect some futuristic touches in the alleged car following the legacy of Volvo.
Under the hood, V90 shall be assembled with a powerful diesel engines, named D4 and D5. Both the trims will be capable of delivering maximum power output of 190 and 235 hp respectively. Meanwhile, the petrol engines, named, T6 and T8 Twin Engine would propel maximum power of 320 and 407 hp respectively. The top variant is likely to get a hybrid engine. The V90 is based on S90’s SPA architecture. Volvo has recently revealed S90 sedan which is also based on the same SPA platform.
On the exterior counterpart, the V90 holds a sporty look, with 15 cm longer profile than the V70 model. The upper half of the tailgate gets occupied by the rear window with slim tail lamps. The side profile offers a new design language. The picture depicts the proper work of latest architecture by the automaker. V90 is likely to offer a similar luggage room of 575 litres, also found on the V70. The diesel engines are based on Volvo’s latest Power Pulse technology that helps in enhancing the acceleration and minimizes turbo lag.
The prices of the new V90 has not been confirmed yet but the cool wagon is likely to be launched at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show. The model will be on sale later onwards.
