Updated Jaguar I-Pace boasts improved charging capability and connectivity

MANILA: Jaguar has announced on Tuesday that the Jaguar I-Pace, the world’s first all-electric SUV from a European luxury marque, now delivers more rapid charging capability and a new and a infotainment system, to make the ownership of an electric vehicle (EV) more rewarding and convenient than ever.

The I-Pace now has an 11kW onboard charger as standard, allowing customers with accessibility to three-phase electricity supplies to experience faster charging. If connected to an 11kW wall box, up to 53kph can be attained. Full charging  of an empty battery will only take 8.6 hours, and this is suitable for overnight charging while at home.

Customers utilizing 7kW wall boxes also gain from competitive charging capability, which is up to 35kph of charging, having a full charge of 12.75 hours. When charging while the vehicle is moving, a 50kW charger contributes up to 63kph in 15 minutes. Also, a 100kW charger contributes up to 126kph over the same timeframe.

The Jaguar I-Pace is also the first Jaguar to have the new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which is the main feature of its well-designed, spacious interior. Pivi Pro, similar to the spontaneous functionality of a smartphone, is responsive and quick with improved EV navigation that can show to anyone the availability of nearby charging stations, their duration of charging, and their cost.

The multi-functional, haptic rotary controllers, five-inch and 10-inch upper and lower touchscreens, and 12.3-inch high-definition virtual instrument cluster are paired with contemporary and clean graphics for dynamic and spontaneous user experience.

The new Pivi Pro infotainment system also enables anyone to reach their desired destinations with lesser effort and in a shorter timeframe.

The I-Pace has been configured to keep anyone safe, and has been rewarded with the maximum five-star EuroNCAP rating.

Its cutting-edge digital technology assists road users and drivers. Visibility is considerably improved through the inclusion of a 3D Surround Camera system as standard. This gives a 360-degree view of possible hazards, which is noticeable through the central touchscreen.

Inside, the ClearSight rearview mirror enhances convenience and vision through the assurance that the driver always has an unhindered view from behind. This is applicable even if a 656-liter luggage compartment is placed up to the roof or three people are seated in the rear seat.

The I-Pace is equipped with two Jaguar-designed electric motors on both axles, generating a distinct combined performance of 696Nm of torque and 395hp of power output. It also has a low center of gravity, and aluminum construction.

Through these features, the I-Pace provides a balance of agility, luxury, enhancement, and all-wheel drive performance, aside from daily functionality and excellent real-world range.
