VinFast VF 7 to make local debut at 2024 PEVS

MANILA: VinFast Philippines will launch the VF 7 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the upcoming Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) 2024.

Per the invitation sent to Zigwheels Philippines, the electric vehicle will be presented on the first day of the automotive expo — October 24.

The local wing of the Vietnamese electric carmaker previewed the VinFast VF 7 when the brand launched in the country not too long ago.

Attendees were able to see the low-slung electric SUV in the metal at the SM Mall of Asia in May. Disclosed specifications of the VinFast VF 7 reveal that the vehicle is available in two variants: one equipped with a single motor and the other having two electric machines integrated on both the front and rear wheel axles.

The former is said to make 174 horsepower with 250 Newton-meters (Nm) of pulling power, while the dual-motor-equipped model is said to make up to 348 horses with 500 Nm of torque.

Further, the standard variant (single motor-equipped) can drive up to 375 kilometers (km) on a single charge while the range-topping trim has an estimated emissions-free range of 431 km.

Per VinFast Philippines, the VF 7 is aimed at young executives and starter families, but is still able to accommodate a wide range of car buyers.

In addition to the launch of the VinFast VF 7, the company will also stage test drives for the VF 3, VF 5, and VF 7.

PEVS 2024

PEVS 2024 is scheduled to run from October 24-26, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

VinFast Philippines Chief Executive Officer Cao Ngoc Nguyen Duy will take part in a panel discussion on “Increasing the Role of eMobility in ASEAN Sustainability and Industry Development,” happening on October 25 — the second day of the summit.

Additionally, the VinFast Philippines boss will also deliver a keynote speech on the company’s plans for “Electrification of Southeast Asia and Beyond,” highlighting the marque’s vision for regional growth.

Alongside VinFast Philippines, other brands such as BYD, Dongfeng, Hyundai, and Nissan, are expected to showcase their electric vehicle offerings.
