Volkswagen Group to cut down its Car model variants
MANILA: Due to the diesel issue and emission regulations, Volkswagen group had decided to cut down the variants in its vehicle lineup. This move will benefit VW group by saving around 1.9 billion Euros. After facing heavy fines of billions of dollars in the emission scandal, the German automaker is indulged into taking major steps in saving money.
The company has no intention to cut jobs but talking to the logistics departments, it got revealed that the enormous range of variants and components in the lineup costs more and makes things a bit complex.

Meanwhile, Audi USA has also joined hands with the Volkswagen group in the Gift Card Goodwill Program and released a statement that the 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel engine has also been detected with the defeat device. Models built from 2009-2015 have been detected with the defeat device, namely, A3, A6, A7, A8, Q5, and Q7. So, Audi is likely to commit for a dealership card worth $ 500, Visa loyalty card worth $ 500 and 24 hrs roadside assistance to the owners of Audi TDI for next 3 years.

Volkswagen’s labour representative, Bernd Osterloh said that VW will be cutting the variants due to the diesel issue and this move will help VW saving billion Euros. Also, the senior executives are likely to get lesser bonus this time. These reforms might help the company to recover from the loss caused due to the defeat device emission Scandal.
