KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the performance specs of the 2023 Kia EV6?
With a dual-motor e-AWD powertrain that drives all four wheels, the 2023 Kia EV6 GT raises the bar for performance for the already powerful EV6 family. A front-mounted 160kW motor and a rear-mounted 270kW motor are each powered by an energy-dense 77.4 kW Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery pack, resulting in a total output of 576 horsepower and 546 lb.-ft. of torque. How does the 2023 Kia EV6's drift mode works?
Drivers can distribute power to the rear wheels in the selectable Drift Mode for an even more manageable driving experience.“The EV6 GT ushers in the next chapter of the Plan S electrification story for Kia, elevating the EV6’s thrilling performance and effortless drivability beyond expectations,” said Steven Center, COO, and Executive Vice President, of Kia America. “Moving toward our tailpipe zero-emissions goals has never been as exhilarating.”
The 2023 Kia EV6 GT, the most potent production Kia yet, ushers in a new era for electricity and the Kia nameplate. The award-winning E-GMP modular platform serves as the foundation for the EV6 GT, which elevates the conversation and pushes the boundaries of electric performance vehicles.

The EV6 GT can reach a top speed of 259 kph and speeds from 0 to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds. The EV6 GT outperformed a Ferrari Roma and a Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder RWD in independent testing conducted by a reputable third party, AMCI.
A dedicated sport suspension with electronically controlled dampers and special front suspension performance parts are other performance enhancements that distinguish the EV6 GT. A balanced, pleasant ride is provided through dynamic damping adjustment, as well as agile handling.
By distributing torque to the wheels with the highest grip during turns, an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) improves traction and stability. Larger ventilated monoblock caliper front (15-inch) and rear (14.2-inch) disc brakes are standard. The 2023 Kia EV6 GT comes standard with 21-inch alloy wheels and Z-rated Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
In addition to the Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow drive modes found on other Kia EV6 models, the EV6 GT offers GT Drive Mode, My Drive Mode, and Drift Mode.
By pressing a button on the steering wheel, the EV6 GT's motors, braking, steering, suspension, e-LSD, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems are tuned to operate at their highest aggressive levels in GT Drive Mode. Using My Drive Mode, drivers can also design settings specifically customized to their personal driving tastes.
Drivers can distribute power to the rear wheels in the selectable Drift Mode for an even more manageable driving experience. The list of adjustable Active Sound Design options now includes two more sounds that are exclusive to the Kia EV6 GT.
The EV6 GT gains from having a recharge rate that is comparable to its startling acceleration. It has 800V fast charging capabilities, allowing drivers to recharge 80% of battery capacity at 350-kW chargers in less than 18 minutes.
The 2023 Kia EV6 GT has a sturdy shell made of 75% high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel. It also has the first mass-produced integrated drive axle (IDA), which increases durability and handling while merging the drive shaft and wheel bearings to reduce weight.
Exterior-wise, the styling of the Kia EV6 GT is the result of a global collaboration between Kia's design offices in Seoul, Frankfurt, and Irvine. It is inspired by a design philosophy known as "Opposites United," which combines cues and inspirations from the contrasts seen in nature and daily life.
A flat floor and a long wheelbase enhance passenger space, and the positioning of the battery under the floor makes for a low center of gravity that promotes stability.
The EV6 GT is distinguished by subtle exterior and interior flourishes, front and back fasciae that are specific to the GT accentuate vehicle width, and a rear aero spoiler and diffuser finish the GT metamorphosis. The 2023 Kia EV6 GT communicates its high-performance credentials and stopping capability with custom 21-inch alloy wheels and brake calipers with neon accents.
The 'GT' logo and green piping are imprinted on the vegan suede-trimmed, heavily bolstered performance front bucket seats inside. The interior has high-end, EV6 GT-only details including neon lighting, lightweight front bucket seats, and a striped design on the upper dashboard and front center armrest. A calming glow is produced by the ambient lighting found on the dashboard, center console, and door panels.
The 2023 Kia EV6 GT, like all EV6 models, is a part of Kia's "Plan S" initiative, which aims to release at least two battery-electric cars (BEV) annually and create a full lineup of 14 BEVs by 2027. The EV6 GT features a proprietary multi-charging technology that supports 400v and 800v DC charging and operates with DC chargers that have a speed range of 50kW to 350kW.
Through the EV6 GT's innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, the car transforms into a portable power source for everything from camping and tailgating to home improvement chores. Electrical tools, appliances, and recreational equipment receive 1,900 watts of power via an Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which receives electricity from the high-energy battery.
Included in the EV6 GT are a variety of basic and optional technology features, as well as a list of standard and optional features that improve convenience and safety. The EV6 comes equipped with a long list of 20 active Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that are all standard as part of Kia's overall commitment to safety (ADAS).
The EV6 GT will be sold nationwide at Kia stores in the US when it goes on sale in Q4 2022. All purchasers of the EV6 GT will also receive a 1,000 kWh charging credit at Electrify America stations, redeemable over three years. Pricing will be disclosed closer to the vehicle's introduction.
