WATCH: Adults, children welcome technology in Hyundai poll
MANILA: According to today's youth, self-charging electric vehicles and space travel via public transportation are at the top of the desire list for future mobility, Hyundai cited.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
How do adults and children find robotics, according to Hyundai's poll?
Nearly four in 10 adults have come to terms with the idea of interacting with robots in their daily life, and 31% feel excited at the prospect. And almost half — at 47% — said they believe robots to be useful, especially in the fields of scientific research, healthcare and transportation, and cited the abilities to learn, endure climate extremes and harsh terrain as important abilities. Why did Hyundai commission a study on people's perception of transportation options?
Hyundai commissioned the study on perceptions toward future technologies in order to better understand how adults and kids view transportation options like flying taxis and electric autos.Self-charging electric automobiles were cited as a desirable technology by more than two-thirds of kids aged six to ten (72%) while more than half wished for flying cars (51%). Meanwhile, 17 percent of kids say they would like to travel to space using public transportation.
When asked what additional technological advancements they would like to see in the future, respondents maintained the transportation theme with robots, teleportation, and a flying school bus.
A survey of 1,000 kids between the ages of six and ten found that 65% believe technology can improve life for both learning (56%), and creating and building things (59%).
Similarly, 51% of their adult counterparts think that technical advancements are crucial for advancing society.
Scientific research, healthcare, business, and education are all fields where people believe technology holds the key to success, according to a survey of 2,000 UK individuals.
Nearly two thirds of Brits (62%) acknowledged the importance technology has had in their personal mobility when asked about the influence of technology on their daily life and its benefits.
Another important area for technical advancements was transportation, according to 23% of respondents.
With 38% of Brits believing that technology may be used to enhance transportation and mobility's environmental credentials, there is clearly a desire for mobility to be more environmentally friendly.
Robots, flying, and autonomous vehicles all ranked highly among the technologies that adults were most enthusiastic about, much like their younger counterparts, but renewable energy sources and artificial intelligence also received significant attention.

More over a third of those polled by Hyundai believed that developments like autonomous flying taxis would not be practical for at least another 20 years.
And 75% were unaware that some contemporary electric vehicles can serve as charging stations for nearby electric vehicles as well as other crucial pieces of personal technology.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director Hyundai Motor UK said: “It’s clear from our research that society is eager to embrace technology on a range of levels such as helping efforts to clean up the environment and offer clean mobility solutions, ultimately driving progress in the way we travel.
“Many of us are also intrigued by the potential capacities of robotics, and how this will determine the future of technology.”
People were questioned about their attitudes on integrating technology into their life in response to the findings of the OnePoll study.
Participants experienced the possibilities robotics brings for the future while expressing their ideas in a movie, with Spot the robotic dog from Boston Dynamics making a surprise visit.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car, which features Vehicle-to-load (V2L), gave participants the chance to experience how personal gadgets and other cars may be charged via its charging station.

Perhaps not surprisingly for generation alpha (children under 12), the key robot capabilities were the ability to do chores (55%) and homework (47%).
For social progress, adults rate robots higher than children. Almost a third of adults (32%) said they would be willing to befriend one, while only 24% of children agreed.
The field of robotics is an important area of business development for Hyundai Motor Group further bolstered by the acquisition of Boston Dynamics.
