Welcome to the metaverse: Hyundai Mobility Adventure to appear on Roblox
MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company is set to launch the “Hyundai Mobility Adventure,” a metaverse space on Roblox that features the brand’s advanced products and future mobility solutions. Before its official launch next month, Hyundai invites the public to participate in its open beta service that began yesterday, September 1.
Hyundai Mobility Adventure is a shared virtual space that allows users to interact with one another and experience the brand’s mobility offerings in the form of avatars. Users can customize their avatars based on their preferences and interact with each other in imaginative ways.
Hyundai Mobility Adventure will be launched on Roblox, an online entertainment platform at the forefront of the growing metaverse industry with 43.2 million daily users. It is the first virtual experience on Roblox created by a global automotive brand. Hyundai Mobility Adventure is targeted at young, technologically savvy consumers who love to explore the virtual worlds beyond physical experiences. The development of this metaverse space aims to familiarize young consumers with Hyundai’s products and future mobility solutions.
In a statement, Hyundai Motor Company Executive Vice President and Customer Experience Division Head Thomas Schemera said, “To build innovative relationships with young people, we will strengthen our virtual customer experience content for familiarizing them with Hyundai Motor’s new vehicles and future mobility solutions on Hyundai Mobility Adventure, one of our next-generation CX platforms. We plan to continue to use the metaverse platform for communication of Hyundai Motor’s new vehicles and future mobility solutions, so please keep an eye on our upcoming content.”
Hyundai Mobility Adventure is hosting five themed parks: Festival Square, Future Mobility City, Eco-forest, Racing Park, and Smart Tech Campus.
Festival Square is a central base camp for players to return to from their explorations. This is where the festivals, celebrations, and vehicle displays are held.
Meanwhile, the Future Mobility City is an ultramodern metropolis where players can experience Hyundai’s future mobility solutions and hydrogen fuel-cell technology.
The Eco-forest, powered by Ioniq, is a leisure space that offers minimalist and slow living supported by the co-occurence of eco-friendly mobility technologies and fairy-tale fantasies.
On the other hand, the Racing Park is a racing theme park that gives players a chance to experience modern racing technologies and motorsports available via Hyundai’s high-performance N brand cars.
The Smart Tech Campus is a technology research center where players can recreate the experiences of Hyundai engineers and designers in a futuristic setting.
Users can freely move between the five themed parks where they can experience Hyundai products and future mobility solutions, play games, and role-play to fulfill various tasks. Players can can drive Hyundai vehicles such as Nexo and Ioniq 5 and operate robotics, purpose built vehicles (PBV) and urban air mobility (UAM) transportation devices. They can also upgrade their personal parking garage and take part in social activities available in the metaverse.
The Future Mobility City and Festival Square are the only virtual zones that are accessible on the open beta service. The Eco-forest will be launched in October, followed by the openings of Racing Park and Smart Tech Campus later this year.
The open beta service users may send their feedback through various channels. Hyundai will then review the feedback and use it to improve the quality of the virtual experiences in the official version that will be launched in October. “The open beta service also serves to fulfil Hyundai Motor’s open innovation processes by assimilating various ideas for content improvement and diverse languages, enabling the company to integrate fresh new ideas from outside as sources of innovative synergy and collaboration,” Hyundai Motor Company said in a statement.
