What to expect from the new 2021 Jaguar F-Type
MANILA: Jaguar revealed the latest changes for the 2021 model of their popular sports two-door, the F-Type. The vehicle received major changes in both design and under the hood. Those interested in the 2021 F-Type can expect a sexier and sleeker appearance, upgraded standard technology features, and a new engine that gives this infamous sports car an even better bite.
2021 F-Type design
The most noticeable revision on the 2021 F-Type is its updated design, particularly on its front fascia. The new 2021 model now has a wider grille with a new mesh design that’s set deeper into the vehicle’s body. A set of new LED headlights also adds to the car’s aggressive facade. However, the body’s sheet metal succeeds in giving it that signature smooth, flowing sculpted shape.
The rear received minimal changes with slimmer taillights and a new signature light design. However, buyers can expect a rear bumper redesign, with a new exhaust system that now features a quad-tip design. Other noticeable changes include the new clamshell-style hood and the new set of larger side vents.
2021 F-Type engine
Similar to the previous model, Jaguar offers a base turbocharged four-cylinder engine and supercharged V6, plus the new additional option of a supercharged V8. The V8 is Jaguar’s current top-of-the-range offering. It can put out 575 PS and 700 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful configuration compared to the two former options. The four-cylinder can produce 300 PS with 400 Nm while the V6 can generate 385 PS and 460 Nm of torque.
With a V8, the 2021 F-Type can go from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 299 km/h. It can only be paired with an upgraded version of the old eight-speed automatic gearbox, but it does offer rear- and all-wheel drive. A lesser supercharge version of the engine will also be available capable of producing 450 PS.
All engines are mated to an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission, with both V8 and V6 offering all-wheel drive.
2021 F-Type technology
The inside now has a fully digital 12.4-inch screen and can simultaneously display the tachometer, media infotainment, and navigation. It also has a new 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Jaguar has not yet announced pricing nor start of production. Keep checking back here for more updates soon.
