Zigwheels claims top spot in Vios Cup 2023 season

MANILA: Zigwheels Philippines has claimed the top spot in the Autocross Challenge Promotional Media class of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup.

Pattice Tenorio finished first overall in the said category of the Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) 2023 Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup.

Likewise, Lyka Tan from our sister platform Carmudi Philippines, snatched the third overall position in the same class.

Among the victors of the 2023 season of Toyota’s one-make race were familiar faces as well as newcomers, who proved that they have what it takes to dominate the track and compete with some of the best pro drivers in the country.

Taking the first spot in the Super Sporting class is John Dizon from JD Motorsports – Ribbon Arc followed by Joaquin Garrido from Toyota North Edsa – Obengers Racing Team and Gerard Loy from R Racing Team.

Meanwhile, Russel Cabrera of Toyota Team Cebu took the first spot in the Sporting class while Maila Alivia of JBT Racing / Toyota Isabela and Mikey Keilani Jordan of Toyota Otis Incorporated – Obengers Racing Team followed in second and third, respectively.

Further, Alain Alzona — who represents Toyota General Santos – Chooks-To-Go Racing — snatched first place in the Promotional class. He is followed by Jarond Mesina, who races under the banner of Toyota Team Cebu, at second. Paolo Ayo, flying the flag of TTC / Edgesport, finished third.

Members of the motoring media also showcased their talents behind the wheel.

Mica Delos Reyes from the Philippine Star finished second board the Vios sedan while competing in the same category as Tenorio and Tan.

For the Sporting Media category, the number one driver is Wowie Go of C! Magazine. He is followed by John Rey San Diego of Autocar and Ronald Delos Reyes of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Ezra Domingo, on the other hand, took the first spot in the Promotional Influencer class with Arianne Bautista and Genesis Redido trailing behind to take the second and third spots.

Finally, the Sporting Influencer class was won by Reph Bangsil, who finished first. He is accompanied by Carla Lizardo-Sulit and Lexi Mendiola, who came in second and third, respectively.

Also in attendance were local celebrities and Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup staples Troy Motero, Enzo Pineda, Ryan Agoncillo, Carla Lizardo, Megan Young, Macoy Dubs, Benedict Cua, and Bianca Yao.

Throughout the season, TMP displayed some of its performance-oriented models under the Gazoo Racing banner, which includes the Hilux GR-S, Fortuner GR-S, and Rush GR-S.
