Can Honda Click 150i impress Filipinos to become segment leader?

The two-wheeler segment in the country is getting crowded at a significant rate. With a number of segments, it has become quite confusing for a buyer to select the perfect companion for its daily commutation needs. Amidst a highly competitive segment, Honda recently introduced its Click 150i which directly lock its horns against the likes of Yamaha Mio Aerox 155. Aerox 155 has already gained a significant appreciation due to its sporty character and engine performance and it will be interesting to see how Honda Click 150i will manage to make a strong market share.

So, let’s find out what this new scooter of Honda has to offer.

 How It Looks?

To stand apart, Honda has aggrandized the sporty character of the scooter by covering the cladding in Premium Matte and distinctive graphics. Definitely, Honda has worked hard to improve the upgraded Click over the predecessor. This is evident from the sleek dual-LED headlamp, semi-digital meter panel and smart ignition key cluster with seat eject button.

The overall design philosophy is focused towards giving the Click 150i an aggressive appeal and Honda has done this significantly with the help of graphics. The utility factor has been also given priority and the U-Box compartment gives you 18-litre storage space, which is enough to keep a full-face helmet.

Riding Characteristics

Honda has upgraded the scooter with a 150cc engine which delivers 9.3kW maximum power and 12.8 Nm peak torque. These figures are quite low in the segment but, what makes Click 150i a competent scooter is its powerful acceleration. Ability to maneuver comes from the short wheelbase of the scooter and 29.8-inch seat height makes it a perfect ride for short people. With an adequate balance of throttle and balance, cutting through traffic is not an issue while sharp turns and edge overtake are also comfortable with Click 150i. The engine runs smooth, which is quite pleasant for the rider and does not add additional stress and tension while crossing a busy street.

Improved Braking System & Fuel Efficiency

Honda Click 150i comes with Combi Brake System that provides effective stopping time to the scooter. Whereas, a complete halt on Honda Click 150i activates the Idling Stop System of the scooter which helps in achieving improved fuel efficiency. The 125cc version of Click was able to deliver mileage between 40 - 45 kmpl while the 150i is capable enough to deliver mileage ranging from 50 to 55 kmpl.

So, if you are looking to have an easy ride with improved fuel efficiency and better handling capabilities, the upgraded Click is a decent choice in the segment. With a price tag of Php 89,900, the Honda Click 150i is a value for money scooter which ensures a better riding experience and holds the characteristics to become a segment leader.
