Honda ADV160

The Honda ADV 160 sports a striking adventure-scooter look, borrowing design cues from the larger X-ADV. It features sharp body lines, a sculpted front fascia, and a tall stance, making it look more rugged than a typical scooter. The design is both sporty and robust, appealing to urban riders and those who love weekend tours. The dual headlights with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs) provide excellent visibility and a premium feel. The maxi-scooter gets all-around LED lighting. The taillights and turn signals ensure brighter illumination while consuming less power.

A standout feature of the Honda ADV 160 is its two-level adjustable windscreen. It provides better wind protection, particularly at higher speeds, making long rides more comfortable. Riders can manually adjust it to suit different riding conditions, like lower for city rides and higher for highway cruising.

The scooter gets a fully digital instrument panel cluster with clear, easy-to-read information. It includes a speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter, clock, battery voltage and the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) indicator.

The ADV 160 rides on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear cast-aluminium wheels. The two-wheeler comes with 30 litres of underseat storage that’s big enough to accommodate a full-face helmet and other essentials. The USB charging point is located in the front compartment. The 8.1-litre fuel tank is large for long trips.

The Honda ADV 160 comes with a wide and well-cushioned seat, providing excellent comfort for both the rider and passenger. The seat of 780mm, slightly lower than the previous ADV 150 making it more accessible for shorter riders. The design itself ensures a natural and relaxed riding posture, reducing fatigue on long rides. The wide handlebars ensure better control along with a comfortable grip and excellent manoeuvrability. The upright riding position provides a commanding view of the road, making it ideal for city traffic and long rides. The 31mm Showa telescopic front forks, provide superb damping and shock absorption. The Showa twin rear shock absorbers with sub-tanks, improve ride stability and comfort.

The Honda ADV 160 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 157cc, engine that produces 16PS/15Nm. The motor is mated to Honda’s V-belt automatic transmission. For city riding, the engine delivers a smooth and responsive throttle, making it easy to navigate through traffic. With a top speed of around 115 kmph the Honda ADV 160 can comfortably cruise on highways. It performs best at speeds between 80-100kmph, where the engine feels smooth and stress-free. 

The Honda ADV 160 handles uphill roads and heavier loads better than its predecessor, courtesy the higher torque output, making it more practical for various riding conditions. The fuel efficiency is impressive around 45kmpl. Honda’s ESP+ (Enhanced Smart Power Plus) technology ensures minimal vibrations and a quiet ride. Even at higher speeds, the motor remains refined and smooth, making it comfortable for long trips.

The front wheel of the Honda ADV 160 gets a 240mm hydraulic disc with single-channel antilock braking that reduces the risk of skidding on slippery surfaces. Dual-channel antilock braking (which covers both front and rear brakes) would have been better for exhaustive stability. The HSTC prevents rear-wheel slippage in low-traction conditions such as wet or gravel roads. The 1,275mm wheelbase and 165mm ground clearance provide good stability, even on uneven terrain. The anti-theft engine immobilizer with an answer-back function adds security and convenience.

The Honda ADV 160 maxi-scooter is available in a single version in the Philippines. Prices start at ₱166,900. It’s a great choice for riders who want a versatile, adventure-style scooter with solid performance, comfort, and premium features. It is well-suited for daily commuting, weekend rides, and light off-road use. Though it’s priced higher than most rivals, it comes packed with features, ensuring value for money.
