2019 Honda Africa introduced with new matte black colour
MANILA: The 2019 Honda Africa Twin (CRF1000) has been updated with a new colour. This new addition is of the Matte Ballistic Black Metallic color, which joins the lineup of the Blue, Red, and White.
There are some other updates made for the 2018-19 riding season too. These updates are basically on the mechanical aesthetic side which is the addition of a new exhaust and an airbox. Also, there is a lighter balancing shaft and an air pump inside the clutch case. Apart from these, there is a new lithium battery and the ride-by-wire mechanism.
There is a highlighting difference between the base model and the higher Adventure Sports version. The former has 18.8 litres of capacity fuel tank while the latter has a bigger 24-4 litre fuel storage. Apart from this, there are some other differences too, like the higher seat height. The CRF1000AL has a saddle height of 850-870 mm, depending on the set while the Adventure Sports has a higher 900 mm for the lower and 920 mm for the higher mark. Also, the wheel travel is different in the two versions too. The range-topper has a travel of 252 mm for the front and 240 for the rear.
Mechanically, the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin is powered by a 998 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which can make a maximum power of 94 PS at 7,500 RPM along with a peak torque of 99 Nm, which comes at 6,000 RPM. Power is sent down to the wheels either by a mainstream 6-speed manual or a better Honda DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) with the chain final drive.
The base CRF1000AL comes with ABS while the CRF1000DL has it along with DCT. Moreover, the CRF1000DL2 Adventure Sports has both these features
