2020 Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert & Alpine editions launched
MANILA: Triumph brings out the 2020 Tiger 1200 Desert and the 2020 Tiger 1200 Alpine for the adventurers and the road tourers, respectively. Based on the UK based automaker's mid-range XCx and XRx models, the Tiger 1200 Desert and 1200 Alpine special editions bring along new unique paint schemes and high-end tech, providing the riders with more capable two-wheelers.
While the desert dedicated 2020 Triumph 1200 Desert features the "Sandstorm" paint job with "Desert Edition", the 2020 Triumph 1200 Alpine, on the other hand, flaunts the "Snowdonia White" color and also wears "Alpine Edition" graphics. Both the 1200 Desert and the 1200 Alpine editions are powered by a 1215cc in-line triple-cylinder engine that makes 139 bhp at 9,350 rpm and a peak torque of122 Nm at 7,600 revs.
Other bits and pieces on the 2020 Triumph 1200 Alpine include a lightweight titanium silencer by Arrow, Triumph Shift Assist with clutchless bi-directional shifts, and new "SE" radiator badges. Speaking of the 2020 Triumph 1200 Desert edition, the adventure motorcycle gets the same equipment as the Alpine edition barring some additional elements like off-road riding modes, off-road footpegs, sump guard, and an autoblipper.
Both the motorcycles also feature an adjustable full-colour TFT instrument cluster, WP suspension with Triumph Semi-Active Suspension (TSAS), Brembo brakes, cornering ABS, traction control, different riding modes (Rain/Road/Off-Road/Sport), LED lighting, electrically adjustable touring screen, and many other modern-day features. As for the pricing, the 2020 Triumph 1200 Alpine and Desert edition models are priced at £14,700 and £15,500, respectively. The two special editions are £400 more expensive than the regular XCx and XRx models.
