250 riders to join Philippine Motorcycle Tourism program kick-off on Nov. 20

MANILA: On November 20, around 250 motorcycle riders will start the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism (PMT) program organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the TPB said.

The TPB said only fully vaccinated individuals can join the PMT, as well as the safety webinar before the event. Participants who test negative in a COVID swab test are allowed to join.As part of the PMT, the riders will conduct a two-day ride that will cover two loops of the Calabarzon Region, particularly the landmark areas around the Taal Lake and Laguna Lake. The riders will gather at and depart from Rizal Park, Manila on Nov. 20.
TPB said the goal of the PMT is "to bring back public confidence of travel within the country, while exercising safety protocols."
In preparation for the PMT kick-off ride, a hybrid webinar will be held onsite at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), and virtually on Friday, November 19.
The webinar intends to equip participating motorcycle riders with knowledge on safe riding, off-road driving techniques, and adventure tourism.
The webinar is free and registrants will be accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis through online registration.
The Philippine Motorcycle Tourism ride and hybrid webinar will be conducted in accordance with Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) guidelines. Only fully-vaccinated individuals will be accepted to join the webinar and the ride, the TRB said.
The webinar will be attended by the following speakers: Rod Cruz of the Arangkada Riders’ Alliance, Gen. Fernando Paez of the Law Enforcer Riders’ Association of the Philippines, and Mel Aquino of the Yamaha Off-Road Training Camp.
