All-new Honda CB500X is a 'commuting alternative and adventure bike'
MANILA: Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) introduced its dual-sports adventure bike, the CB500X. Offered at P380,000, HPI is positioning the CB500X for on- and off-road adventures, and as an alternative to commuting, helped along by the bike's expressway-legal engine size.
Recently unveiled in Europe, the CB500X is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled four-stroke DOHC parallel twin engine, capable of churning out 46hp at 8,500 rpm and 43.2Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
The motorcycle boasts a frugal fuel economy of 27.8kpl with its 17.7L fuel tank capacity. First-time riders and enthusiasts will also be thrilled to ride the adventure tourer with its 199 kilogram weight and a 834 millimeter seat height, HPI said.
The CB500X is underpinned by an inverted front fork, while dual disk front brakes are fitted alongside the 19-inch aluminum front wheel. For a more balanced suspension trip on pavement and dirt alike, it has Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD Forks front suspension, Prolink Mono with a five-stage pre-load adjuster, and steel hollow cross swing arm rear suspension.
When it comes to looks, the CB500X wears eye-catching color and stripes in Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. Additional accessories can be availed upon purchase, HPI added.
