Aprilia debuts 'revamped' Tuono V4 at 2024 EICMA

MANILA: Aprilia has officially debuted the updated Tuono V4 at the 2024 Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA).

  • Introduced at the Milan-based motorcycle show as the Standard and Factory versions, the revamped Aprilia ride features larger 52-millimeter throttle bodies and a larger displacement of 1,099 cubic centimeters (cc) for its V4 engine. For reference, the older Tuono V4 came with a 1,077-cc mill. 

    Thanks to the adjustments made to its V4 motor, the Italian sport bike can now produce u to 180 horsepower (hp) at 11,800 revolutions per minute. The aforementioned is a healthy 5-hp increase compared to the pre-facelifted motorcycle’s 175-hp output.

    Additionally, the Italian motorcycle company redesigned the Tuono V4’s aerodynamic bits for better performance and better rider protection. For starters, its new double-surface front wing profile can generate up to 2.5 kilograms of vertical load whenever the bike is traveling at 250 kilometers per hour. 

    It likewise received a newly designed tail section and side panels for better heat dissipation. Easy removal was also made possible due to a new rear light assembly, which was integrated with the bike’s license plate holder. 

    Apart from the mechanical improvements, the updated Tuono V4 also boasts upgrades for its array of on-board electronics. 

    Its five-inch TFT dashboard, for instance, received new graphics, while the buttons positioned on the motorcycle’s handlebars now come with backlights.

    The Noale-headquartered bike manufacturer likewise improved the bike’s control intervention capabilities through a new predictive algorithm. Retained from the pre-facelift model is a three-level anti-lock braking system and the Aprilia Performance Ride Control system. 

    Exclusive to the new Tuono V4 Factory is a Race Pack, which enables corner-by-corner mapping and control of the model’s Öhlins EC 2.0 suspension system. Moreover, a performance-oriented Track Pack and a road-focused Comfort Pack were also presented as options for the Standard trim. 

    To note, the pre-updated Aprilia Tuono V4, in the form of the Factory version, is currently listed on the Aprilia Philippines website for P1.56 million.
