MANILA: During the 13th Inside Racing Bike Fest and Trade Show, Bikerbox Inc., the official distributor of Aprilia introduced the RSV4 RF in the Philippines. The show took place at Manila’s World Trade Center. Moreover, Aprilia also announced that Dashi Watanabe, the four-time Philippine Superbike champion will be the brand ambassador of the firm in 2019. At the same, Suzuki confirmed the return of Katana and Yamaha launched a brand new bike.
At the aforementioned event, the heads of the Bikerbox, Mike Bondoc, Raf Joaquin, and James Aro announced that they are officially named the distributor of the entire Aprilia line-up in the Philippines. All the models will be available for purchase, and the distributor itself will also do the servicing.
The RSV4 is the flagship model of Aprilia in the Philippines and RF is the limited-edition variant. The RSV4 RF features a new Ohlins suspension. The bike is powered by the 999 cc engine, which can provide a maximum power of 204 PS.
The motorcycle’s bespoke system is named APRC (Aprilia Performance Riding Control) that controls the power. Through the system, the rider will have full control over a variety of systems such as traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control, wheelie control, pit-lane limiter, quick-shifter, etc. However, the manufacturer has not revealed the SRP of the bike yet.
The 13th Inside Racing Bike Fest and Trade Show concluded on March 24th. However, the motorcycles are still on display at the Bikerbox showroom, located at the Doña Irenea St., Sucat, Parañaque.
Prior to Bikerbox, Aprilia used to sell its motorcycles via a local company called Granstar in the country. However, the company closed after serving as the distributor’s role for only a few years.
