BMW G310R showcased at 2016 EICMA
MANILA: The most affordable bike from the Munich-based brand, the BMW G310 has been showcased at 2016 EICMA, which is also anticipated in the Philippines. The all-new BMW G310R is equipped with a 313 cc, single cylinder engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 34 hp at 9,500 rpm while the peak torque measures 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox and the power to weight ratio stands at 212.7 hp/tonne, which is lesser than its key rival KTM Duke 390. With a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres, the BMW G310R will deliver a mileage of 36 kmpl, claimed by the company.
Some of the key highlights of the bike include upside down forks in the front, mono shock rear suspension, disc brakes with dual channel ABS, short wheelbase for easy manoeuvrability, and 17-inch 5 spoke alloy wheels with Michelin tyres. Braking duties are handled by 300 mm front disc with 4-piston fixed caliper and 240 mm rear disc with 2-piston floating caliper. G310R made its world debut last year and is all set to be offered in the international market. For the Philippines, BMW might introduce this entry level offering by March 2017 but, nothing official has been said by the manufacturer.
