CFMoto unveils the 700CL-X at 2019 EICMA

MANILA: During the recently concluded EICMA show in Milan, Italy, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, CFMoto, introduced their new line of motorcycle—the 700CL-X which comes in three models—the Sport, Adventure, and Heritage version.

Designed in Italy, the new 700CL-X boasts of a modern retro-styling targeted to customers “with riding experience and in the pursuit of quality life and fashion trends.” The design focus is on ergonomics and carries adjustable suspension, a single radially-mounted four-piston J-Juan caliper up front, and an LED headlight with round LCD clock behind it.

The new line of 700CL-X is powered by a newly developed 692cc inline twin-cylinder water-cooled engine that has the capacity of churning out a respectable 73Hp of power and 67Nm of peak torque. The unique design also features a slipper-clutch and easy-access air-filter behind the plastic panel on the right-hand side so that “oil draining and refilling can also be easily done at home.”

3 Variants of 700CL-X

Though the ground clearance and suspension for all the motorcycles are the same, the Adventure, Sport, and Heritage models have minor design differences to fit specific target markets.

The 700CL-X Heritage variant will remind you of Yamaha XSR700. The 700CL-X Heritage distinct features include a wide tan leather seat, a dual-tone paint job, a set of wide handlebars, mid-set footpegs, and alloy wheels clad with road-biased rubber, and alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli MT-60 tires of the Ducati Scrambler.

The 700CL-X Adventure has a different fork than the other models. It also comes with raised bars, Kriega Saddlebags, windshield, and spoked rims wrapped in knobby tires.

The 700CL-X Sport model gets a single-tone paint scheme, lower-set clip-on bars (although still with the same enduro-style pegs as the other two models), a split seat, and track-focused Pirelli Diablo Rosso Super Corsa tires.
