Ducati unveils Diavel 1260 and 1260 S ahead of EICMA 2018
MANILA: The second-gen Ducati Diavel 1260 along with the 1260 S has been unveiled at the Ducati’s World Premiere just two prior to the 2018 EICMA motor show, which is scheduled to be held in Milan, Italy.
The brand new vehicles come with a 1262cc DVT L-twin motor, while the predecessor derived the power from a 1198cc engine. The brand new engine belts out a power of 159 PS which is 15 PS more than the previous engine and on the other hand, the peak torque moves up to 128.8 Nm from 123 Nm. As from the automaker’s words, the brand new motor is tuned to deliver a better low rev response.
A short trellis frame replaces the long trellis chassis, and it behaves well even on B-roads. The wheelbase of the two-wheelers become 20 mm larger. The motorcycles weigh more than 5Kg and the seat height of the bike become 100 taller.
Coming to the safety features, all kinds of riding aids have been provided along with the Bosch cornering ABS. The Diavel 1260 S comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, which is present on both the ends. Also, top-spec brake components, bi-directions Ducati Quick Shift and different alloy wheels are offered.
In terms of design, both the bikes follow the same line of the original power cruiser. However, the new bikes look more aggressive. Also, the tank extensions become smaller and the air ducts are now more pronounced. The bike gets a fully LED headlamp. A multimedia system, TFT screen, and a keyless ignition are the other notable features.
The automaker may also display the brand-new Diavel 1260 and the rest of its variants at the EICMA 2018 motorcycle show.
