FINSI, 917Ventures partner to activate Gogoro battery-swapping network in PH

MANILA: The Globe Group's corporate venture builder, 917Ventures, has chosen Fiber Infrastructure and Network Services Inc (FINSI) to construct and maintain the first battery-swapping platform for Gogoro Smartscooters in the Philippines.

FINSI, a division of the Asticom Group of Companies, was the ideal partner to undertake site selection, purchase, and engineering for the initial group of seven GoStations in the National Capital Region due to its competence in engineering and technological solutions. Last April, the first GoStation was presented at the Globe Tower, which houses Globe's corporate offices in Bonifacio Global City.

To ensure the success of the Gogoro deployment, FINSI collaborates with 917Ventures to provide project management and implementation, network and infrastructure management, quality and safety management, and facilities, asset, and materials management services.

Recently, the Gogoro Smartscooters and GoStation ecosystem were introduced in the Philippines by 917Ventures, Ayala Corporation, and Gogoro as an improved transit option. The Gogoro battery-swapping platform powers the EVs, allowing users to swiftly swap out exhausted batteries for fully charged ones in a matter of seconds.

With more than 12,000 battery-swapping stations spread over more than 2,260 locations and serving over 540,000 riders each day, Gogoro has completely transformed two-wheel mobility in Taiwan.
