Haute moto: Vespa 946 Christian Dior scooter slated for 2021 release

MANILA: Iconic Italian moto brand Vespa  and Parisian couture house Christian Dior have collaborated for the development of the Vespa 946 Christian Dior scooter, a tribute to the heritage of the two companies. The limited-edition scooter will appear in Dior boutiques worldwide in 2021 as well as in selected Motoplex stores of the Piaggio Group.

Vespa and Dior have placed greater emphasis on the delicate graphic lines and monohull architecture of the exclusive Vespa 946 Christian Dior scooter, considered to be a representation of refinement and escape to a new horizon. The scooter also serves as a reflection of the shared commitment of Vespa and Dior towards attaining a spirit of expression, movement, and freedom, as well as excellence in virtuoso art detail.

The Vespa 946 Christian Dior scooter adheres to precision and exacting standards. It mirrors the design of the saddle, which is a top case decorated with the Dior Oblique theme, and is specifically configured to be placed on the luggage rack, which in turn, contributes to the unique appeal of the scooter. It also includes a helmet, embellished with the classic Dior Oblique motif.

In 2012, a contemporary version of the classic Vespa 946 was well-recognized for its technological innovation as well as streamlined and sophisticated design. Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of Dior’s women collections, was the designer of the new model.
