MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated-backed Alfonsi Daquigan (#22) has become the first-ever Filipino to enter in the Top 10 rankings of the 2024 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC).

Honda Philippines likewise professed its continued support for the young contender, and it will remain invested in Daquigan's journey to inspire more young future Filipino racers.
With his standings at the latest IATC season, Honda further added that the young Filipino motorcycle racer is well on his way to becoming a world-class rider with a bright future in the sport.
For the unaware, the IATC is a motorcycle racing series for young riders from Asia and Oceania. It is sponsored by the Japanese petroleum refinery company Idemitsu and is organized by Dorna Sports - the same company behind Grand Prix motorcycle racing (MotoGP), the FIM Superbike World Championship, and the all-electric MotoE World Championship.
IATC is primarily run on Asian racing circuits using identical examples of the Honda-built NSF250R Moto3, a non-road legal light-weight bike that uses a 249.3-cubic centimeter single-cylinder, four-stroke engine.
The latest season’s top three racers are all from Japan. Standing on top of the score tally is Zen Mitani with 259 points, followed by Ryota Ogiwara with 179 points, and Riichi Takahira with 177 points.
For reference, Daquigan finished the 2024 IATC season with a total of 71 points.
