Honda PH hits 10-M unit sales mark

MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) achieved a significant milestone by selling 10 million motorcycles in the country.

Per the local arm of the Japanese motorcycle brand, the 10-millionth unit sold was the Honda Click 125. To celebrate the occasion, a commemorative model with a special 10M sticker was introduced at a sendoff ceremony hosted by HPI.

The Honda Click is a small displacement scooter equipped with a 125 cubic centimeter engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. It produces 10.9 horsepower with 10.8 Newton-meters of torque.

Notable features of the Honda Click 125 include its all-LED lighting setup, fully digital meter panel, combined brake system, 14-inch cast wheels, integrated USB charger in the glove box, and park brake lock.

During the event, HPI noted the importance of its dealer partners and customers in achieving the said accomplishment. It also emphasized the unwavering loyalty and spirited patronage of its customers, which the company believes helped it achieve its success.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the support of dealers nationwide and the customers who trust Honda’s products,” HPI wrote in a press release.

HPI President Sayaka Arai-Hattori also said a few words to commemorate the event: “10 million — a number that transcends mere statistics. It represents countless hours of hard work, collaboration, a shared vision, and the ingenuity each of you has demonstrated throughout the years. Each sale is proof of our collective effort, resilience, and customer trust.”

“Our motorcycles have touched lives across the country, cultures, and generations. Achieving 10 million sales is a testament to HPI’s commitment to being the unwavering number one motorcycle manufacturer in the Philippines,” she added.

Road to 10 million

While the 10-millionth spot was taken by the Honda Click 125, other nameplates from the Japanese motorcycle brand contributed significant numbers to the said figure. One of these is the TMX 155, a popular business model.

The Honda XRM — considered a favorite of many Filipino motorcycle enthusiasts — also helped the brand rake in sales. It has become a staple in the Visayas and Mindanao region.

Helping the Honda Click 125 in the small-displacement automatic transmission category is the BeAT. It has been a popular choice among city dwellers thanks to its compact size and nimble handling.
